Publications
IDS Scheer has built our business on the relationship between theory and practice and our publications offer readers a glimpse into that relationship, supported by case studies and real-life examples.
In the beginning, our publication focus was textbooks. Books such as Business Process Engineering – Reference Models for Industries, CIM – The Computerized Firm or ARIS – Methodologies for Modeling, Meta Models, Applications are benchmarks of the commercial information technology/information management.
Innovation often originates from the exchange and further development of new ideas. The edition ARIS in Practice provides readers with insights into the area of ARIS expertise and presents techniques and approaches.
IDS Scheer and Professor Scheer have also published books beyond the subject area of “economic computer science”. His book, Founding an enterprise is not difficult, is a complex “reference model” on how to build an enterprise and bring it to success. Additionally, Professor Scheer shares his experiences and insights regarding the phenomenon New Economy.
IDS Scheer’s latest publication, ARIS Design Platform: Getting Started with BPM, is a practical "how-to" guide to using the ARIS Design Platform and, more importantly, how to use it to create real business models.

Business Process Management has recently become a real "hype" topic. Too often, however, the technical aspects are being focused upon. IDS Scheer AG, leading IT and Consulting company in this business field for more than 20 years, supports a holistic approach. Business Process Management is understood to be a commercially motivated cycle which includes strategy, design, implementation and controlling. This book is dedicated to this cycle in theory and in practice, from the technical as well as the business point of view. Both, the ARIS Platform as well as the methodical approach of ARIS Value Engineering (AVE), are referred to in detail. More than half of the articles are on case studies.
