Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer, Director of the Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik (IWi), today Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chief technology Advisor of IDS Scheer AG, founded the consulting firm of IDS Prof. Scheer Gesellschaft für integrierte Datenverarbeitungssysteme mbH in 1984 together with employees of Saarland University.

What accounting principles does IDS Scheer AG use for its balance sheet?
Until fiscal year 2005, IDS Scheer AG has prepared a separate year-end financial statement for the parent company unit according to accounting regulations of the German Commercial Code (HGB) in addition to the group statement prepared according to U.S. GAAP.
At the beginning of fiscal year 2005, IDS Scheer AG changed its accounting procedures over to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), thereby implementing the requirements of the Accounting Legislation Reform Act of December 4, 2004, for consolidated financial statements of capital-market companies. The company continues to prepare separate annual financial statements for the legal unit of the parent company according to accounting regulations of the German commercial code (HGB).
What is IDS Scheer’s position on the corporate governance principles?
Since its founding IDS Scheer has operated under responsible corporate governance and has conformed to the greatest extent to the Corporate Governance Code. Both the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board of IDS Scheer are committed to these internal principles; neither body is aware of any incident that would breach these principles.
