ARIS Reference Models

Jump start your business processes with best-practice reference models

Business processes can only be improved if their weaknesses have been identified. At the same time, organizations need to know how to go about enhancing their processes. This knowledge may, for example, be derived from employee experience, and it is generally limited to expertise from within the company. It has therefore proven beneficial for organizations to make use of the accumulated experience and lessons learned by other enterprises that have faced and successfully overcome the same challenge. ARIS reference models contain the frozen process knowledge of numerous companies and define specific project methods, including work packages and results. They also provide process models containing data input and output and KPIs for benchmarking and performance measurement purposes.

The process models included in ARIS reference models offer a solid foundation for mapping company-specific processes and are easy to adapt, thus enabling users to design the required to-be processes in a time-efficient fashion. Because they are built on the best practices of other organizations, they can also be used for benchmarking against internationally recognized standards.

Key benefits:

  • Shorter process design phase
  • Higher process quality
  • Benchmarking against established market standards possible

ARIS Value Engineering (AVE)

ARIS Value Engineering is a framework for defining subject-specific procedure models for BPM projects. Each procedure model defines a series of specific work packages that guide users step-by-step through a BPM project. The structure of all ARIS Value Engineering procedure models follows that of the business process lifecycle.
